After being kept off the Moor for a few days by the weather it was good to be out again today. The trees always make great silhouettes against the snow:
Mine were the first human footprints down in Barbrook Plantation for days but others had been here before me:
Red deer tracks everywhere as they had been here sheltering from the snow.
You could see where they had crossed the stream:
This is always a quiet place but even more so today. Not a birdsong to be heard.
However the stream had its own magic:
Back up into the wood and the shadows were lengthening:
And below the track the snowdrifts were starting to curl;
All in all a good trip out but the occasional deer or even a blackbird would have been good!
