One week after the flooding

In the last post I showed the flooding along the Bar Brook following the rapid snow melt.  However it is only when you compare the before and after photos that you realise the volume of water that passed down this stream in a short period of time especially bearing in mind that it is only about 2 miles from its source in the swamp on Totley Moss to the junction with Sandyford Brook.

Here are a few comparisons, starting with 2 slabs bridge and then going downstream.  The lower ones are taken from near the old slag works and the last 2 pairs are on Sandyford Brook which is a small tributary draining Eaglestone Flat.
