More dragons and damsels

I make no excuses for posting more pictures of my favourite creatures! The darters were around in strength at Ramsley this afternoon and it was mating time for the common hawkers.  We saw 2 pairs join together over the water and then fly off to suitable vegetation. For one couple this meant a large thistle whereas the other couple were a bit more sensible and chose a small willow shrub.

pair of emerald damselflies showing how it should be done gracefully.
