Reports are coming in that the red deer hinds are already moving to the rutting grounds and that the occasional bellow from a stag has been heard.  This is going to be about 2 weeks earlier than last year but as there is no interaction between stags and hinds yet we will have to wait and see if this is a false start, perhaps brought on by the cooler weather.
